Charles-Louis Hanon was born in Renescure, France in 1819 and studied as a French composer in the Romantic period. He was also known as a pianist and pedagogue. Charles-Louis Hanon is best known for his pieces from The Virtuoso Pianist In 60 Exercises. Piano students from around the world competitively play his works. Many other famous people would have listened to the music created by Charles-Louis Hanon in France.

Special guests of the SherwinJTB Theatre for this debut include; Sergei Rachmaninoff (Russian-American composer, pianist, and conductor); Josef Lhevinne (Russian pianist and piano teacher); Abby Whiteside (American piano teacher); Alexandre Guilmant (French organist and composer); Auguste Mariette (French scholar, archaeologist and Egyptologist, the founder of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo); and Benoit-Constant Coquelin (French actor).
