Alexander Borodin was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1833 and studied as a Russian composer in the Romantic period. He was also known as a cellist, chemist and physician. He took piano lessons at a young age and later studied medicine for his main career in chemistry. Most of his works were composed of symphonies, string quartets and for opera. Alexander Borodin continued to compose until his death and leaving incomplete projects for others to finish. Many other famous people would have listened to the music created by Alexander Borodin in Russia.
Special guests of the SherwinJTB Theatre for this debut include; Ivan Pavlov (physiologist, psychologist, and physician); Mily Balakirev (Russian pianist, conductor and composer); Friedrich August Kekule von Stradonitz (German organic chemist); Charles-Adolphe Wurtz (Alsatian French chemist); Aleksandr Dianin (Russian chemist); and Alexander Glazunov (Russian composer, music teacher and conductor).
